About Us

The Dexter Community Orchestra (DCO), located in Dexter, Michigan, was founded in 2005 and is dedicated to cultural enrichment through the gift of live musical performances. The DCO has an honored history of talented music directors and musicians; offering an enriching musical experience for its volunteer musicians and its dedicated and growing audience.

The DCO is incorporated as a nonprofit in Michigan and is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The bylaws were adopted in 2006 and are amended as needed.


Music Director and Conductor: Dr. David Schultz

The DCO welcomes Dr. David Schultz as the new Music Director and Conductor!

Dr. Schultz is an accomplished conductor, violist, and composer based in Dexter, Michigan. Having accepted the position in May 2019, Dr. Schultz becomes the Dexter Community Orchestra's third music director and conductor.
