Minutes April 19, 2006 DCO Attending: Tom Rutherford, Marolin Bellefleur, Mike Garrahan, Matt Deloria, Don Parrish, Don Fishel, Ashley Vorobiev, Sally Vandeven Agenda: Short term issues: 1) Poster distribution 1. Thank you to Mrs. Rutherford for gorgeous posters 2. Pass out for distribution to orchestra members at rehearsal 3. Contact Roger Lefever at AANEWS (maybe Ed would do it) but check with soloists to see if advertising with a short bio is okay with any or all of them. 2) Sandwich board distribution - same places as last concert. Long term issues: 1) Scheduling for next year. Concerts early November, December (with DCB), February or early March and May. May 8, 2006 is the date for the CPA event scheduling. Matt is willing to represent the DCO at that meeting. Thank you Matt. 2) Board for next year: prepare a slate. Sign up to be passed at next rehearsal (Apr. 26). 3) Discussion over exactly what to ask people to volunteer for. -a- President -b- VP (-a- and -b- would be staggered years) -c- Sec. -d- Treas. -e- Personnel manager -f- Librarian -g- three members "at large" -h- Publicity (Public Relations) (The elected board would select -e-, -f-, -h-) 4) It was generally agreed that a short bio would be helpful from each candidate for office to understand the relevance of his/her experience to the office being sought. (125 words) 5) There was inconclusive talk of appointing a fund raiser. 6) Annual meeting and Potluck - - - - May 17 (7:00) Of course we need people to come, eat and VOTE. Also, to receive music for next concerts and schedules. 7) Discussion: how to better record the May concert as well as amplify strings in the open air concert. Again, check with soloists. 8) Discussion - repertoire for open air concert. Some from the May program, Sound of Music and Phantom. UPDATE ON BY-LAWS: there is no hurry. The bank will get a copy of the draft just to make the concerned people there happier. Respectfully submitted, Marolin Bellefleur
